Classical Elbrus ascension Technically the ascension is not so complicated as it might seem. Anyone who has sufficien physical fitness can do that, all you need is endurance and purposefulness.
Good acclimatization is a cornered stone of a successful ascension. So you would need 5-7 days of training with trial ascensions.
The journey up to the peak starts from Azau field. You climb to Kara-bashi (3900m) a well-known climbers shelter and spend a night there followed by trial ascent to Pruit 11. After a night in Priut final journey to the peak takes place. Total time of ascent makes 8-10 hour while the descent makes just 3 or 4 hours.
